Core Advice & Support
- Major growth in welfare rights enquiries, with a large increase in disability benefit applications.
- £370,000 gained for clients through welfare rights casework alone.
- £844,800 of debt managed, with significant rises in council tax arrears, rent arrears, and high‑cost credit use.
- Continued success supporting people facing eviction via the Scottish Legal Aid Board Housekeeping Project.
Energy & Cost‑of‑Living Support
- Ongoing advice on fuel poverty, smart meters, Warm Home Discount applications and billing issues.
- £36,827 secured for clients through energy‑related support.
- Continued partnership work with the Fuel Bank Foundation and local groups.
Outreach & Accessibility
- Regular outreach sessions at Nairn Town and County Hospital, providing vital support for patients preparing for discharge.
- Introduction of Thursday evening appointments to improve access for working people and carers.
- Stronger community engagement through events, schools, and local partnerships.
Volunteering & Training
- Seven new volunteers joined the bureau this year.
- Ongoing adviser training, skills development and specialist external training delivered.
- Continued collaboration with Nairn Academy, including placements and digital media support.
Governance & Sustainability
- New multi‑year funding secured to support core services.
- Continued efforts by the Board and management team to strengthen long‑term financial stability.
- Commitment to high standards of confidentiality, data protection and client‑centred practice.
NCAB remains dedicated to ensuring no one in Nairnshire faces hardship alone. With a skilled team of staff and volunteers, expanding partnerships, and renewed funding, the bureau is well‑placed to support the community in the years ahead.
