Inside a buerau
Welcome to Nairn's CAB

Here at Nairn CAB we provide free, confidential and independent advice to everyone who needs it.  Our aim is to ensure individuals do not suffer through a lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities, lack of knowledge of the services available to them or through an inablility to express their needs effectively.

We provide information and advice on a range of issues: benefit entitlement (including Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Job seekers Allowance); debt; consumer rights, employment problems including rights on being made redundant, dismissed or on leaving work as well as change of contract issues; housing issues (homelessness, neighbour problems...); legal issues, relationship issues, tax problems (including council tax); utility problems, nationality problems...and many more!

We are always looking to invite new voluntees to join us.  There is no age limit, we offer comprehensive training and flexible hours to suit you.  All of our volunteers will tell you that it is a rewarding experience and an excellent way to make a difference in your community as well as a fantastic chance to improve your knowledge of important issues.

Why don't you come and have a cuppa and a chocolate biscuit with us, and you can decide whether or not you might want to be part of Nairn Citizens Advice Bureau!

Financial Literacy - Volunteers Wanted!

Nairn Citizens Advice Bureau has an exciting new project - promoting financial awareness in our local community!

We are looking to train volunteers of all ages and from all walks of life to help us deliver financial education to CAB clients, local voluntary and community organisations and to frontline staff in agencies throughout Nairn and its surrounding district.

We believe that by teaching financial literacy, we can prepare people for the pitfalls of the financial world, and remind them that if they do have any problems, no matter how big or small, the Citizens Advice Bureau is always here to help.

If you would like any more details on our financial literacy campaign, please give the Nairn Citizens Advice Bureau a call on 01667 456699.

Summer Holidays

Are you thinking about going on holiday this year?  Maybe you already have one booked?  Then MAKE SURE you have travel insurance!

Travel insurance policies will cover different risks, but most normally include:-
  • cancellation of the trip
  • missed travel arrangements
  • delayed departures
  • medical and other emergency expenses
  • personal injury and death
  • lost, stolen or damaged prperty
  • an amount to buy emergency items if your baggage is delayed
  • legal expenses to help claim compensation for personal injury or death

Don't get caught out on holiday without insurance as you may come to regret it later.

If you have any problems with claiming on your travel insurance, then the advisers at Nairn Citizens Advice Bureau are more than happy to help.  You can find our contact details at the top of this page.
